The Software in Defense Coalition elevates technology start-ups within the defense ecosystem to champion software capabilities and allow non-traditional companies the ability to compete and thrive while supporting U.S. national security missions.

Our Why

The Software in Defense Coalition was founded in 2021 to address shared frustrations by technology start-up companies and small businesses over similar obstacles impeding fulsome participation in the defense ecosystem. 

Focused primarily on advocating for faster adoption of American-based innovation, the Coalition drives discourse and remains committed to an outcome-based approach, ensuring the Department of Defense leverages software-based technologies to meet current and emergent warfighting requirements.
